warm bodies.

we do all remember twilight. dunno if its already finished, n to be honest i dont mind a fuck cause it sucks. but one certain thing i know for sure: it totally destroyed the 'credibility' of vampires. without del toro/hogans brilliant first part of a trilogy - 'the strain' - we couldve buried the idea of vampires creepin out people ever again. i mean - a vampire (immortal soulless blood cravin creature) falls in love with a superficial dumb girl? cmon...just suck her blood n dump her corpse. thats what vampires are supposed to do. but i digress. now another beloved annihilator of humanity is in danger: the zombie. zombies emerged from the voodoo-cult in 19th century. they were will-less deads created to serve its resurrectors. until one of the greatest minds in movie history - george andrew romero - released his pioneering masterpiece 'night of the living dead' redefining the essence of zombies n makin it what it is today. since these glorious days, zombies are undead corpses eatin or at least bitin livin people transformin em into zombies. so simple yet so elegant. this principle was sacrosanct. the zombie per se was evolving, but it never forgot its roots.
until 2011. a weird guy released a book titled: 'warm bodies'. brief overview: its a post zapocalyptic scenario. zombies rule the world, yet there are a few survivers which get decimated every day. R, a zombie n the books protagonist eats the brain of a boy. now it gets strange: he meets the vored boys girlfriend and somehow, the brain of this guy influences R so he doesnt kill her, in fact he hides her from the other zombies cause he fell in love. yep. now its him against the girls father whos a general n the other normal zombies. (in fact there are even some kindo schools teachin new zombies how to kill people n shit - i mean wtf?!? didnt he read max brooks??) so its a forbidden love attacked from all directions. between a zombie n a girl. hello yourfavoritemartian!
what pisses me off is that zombies dont have feelings. they dont spare anybody. they just wanna feast on our flesh, brain n blood. thats y we fear n love em.
cmon, its just a book youll say. yep, youre right. thats what i thougt too when i read it. but the menace comes from summit entertainment, the same productions company that barfed out twilihgt. just imagine how slobbery smooching emotionally fucked up this will become. n now imagine millions of 14 year old girls dreamin of datin a zombie. n now imagine the wave of cheap free riders rollin in. i really hope that the zombie apocalypse sets in before this 'movie' gets released...
